Every Ultimate Team Card Type Explained

Ultimate team's card designs are a language: the colour tells you the tier, the artwork tells you the story. Here's a field guide to every major card type — all of which you can make yourself in FUT Cards, with authentic designs across FC 24, FC 25 and FC 26.

The base cards

CardRating bandWhat it means
Bronze (common/rare)≤64Squad fillers and lower-league players
Silver (common/rare)65–74Solid pros, cult heroes
Gold (common/rare)75+The standard top-flight card

The "rare" variants add the shine — visually, a richer texture. A gold rare is the iconic ultimate team card and the default in FUT Cards.

The promo cards

Every season runs event promos with their own designs. The recurring ones: Future Stars (wonderkids), FUT Birthday (anniversary celebrations), Futties (the end-of-season "community awards"), Winter Wildcards, Thunderstruck, Ultimate Scream (Halloween), and road-to-glory style cards for the European competitions. FUT Cards carries these per season, so an FC 24 Futties looks different from an FC 26 one — as it should.

Tip: Matching card type to story is what makes a concept card land. A wonderkid gets Future Stars, a retiring legend gets an End of an Era, your five-a-side keeper's worldie gets MOTM.
